We’re updating how medication pick-ups work at KC Primary Care. This change applies to every medication we dispense in-office, for every patient. Here’s what to expect at your next visit.
Three updates to every pick-up.
Sign-out verification with photo ID
Every medication pick-up now includes a quick sign-out step. Please bring a valid photo ID with you.
You or an authorized designee can pick up
If someone else is picking up on your behalf, they’ll need to be authorized for that specific pick-up and bring their own valid photo ID.
A short review with your care team
Each pick-up is paired with a brief in-person check-in to confirm your medication and dosing details together.
This step lets us verify every dispense against your chart before it leaves our office, confirming the right patient leaves with the right medication, at the right dose. It’s a small addition to your visit that adds a meaningful layer of safety.
What to expect, either way.
Your First Pick-up
First visit- You, or your parent or guardian, must be present in person to pick up a new medication.
- A full walkthrough of the sign-out process and photo ID check
- Time built in to ask questions about your medication or dosing
Recurring Pick-ups
- A quick photo ID check and sign-out
- A brief confirmation of your medication and dose
- If someone else is picking up for you, they’ll need to be authorized for that specific order and bring their own valid photo ID
